Do weight loss shakes work?

Yes, they do. Meal replacement shakes as part of a low-calorie diet (LCD) have been shown in several studies to be very effective for weight loss.

One study from 2018 showed 4% weight loss with 1 meal replacement per day over a period of 3 months, while other studies have shown an average weight loss of 5-7kg in 3 months on a partial meal replacement program.

In order to see the full benefits of meal replacement shakes, you need to stick with the plan as recommended by your Juniper team.

In addition, the best results are seen in patients who also commit to healthy, low-calorie meals at regular meal times. When you sign up, we’ll give you dietitian-designed meal plans to give you the best possible results.

Can I maintain a normal diet alongside the shakes?

Absolutely. We recommend replacing 1 or 2 main meals – breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner – with a Nourish Shake, and having balanced meals for your remaining main meals.

Our dietitians will also recommend some low-calorie, tasty and nutritious recipes to try alongside your shakes program.

How should the Nourish Shakes be consumed?

Simply tear open the sachet and empty contents into 350ml of water. Shake or blend until smooth and then enjoy!

You may like to add in your favourite fruits, yogurt, milk or ice to make an extra nutritious and filling smoothie.

Nourish Shakes are suitable to replace 1-2 meals per day.

We recommend consulting your GP or dietitian before consuming meal replacement shakes.

Are they vegan and free from major allergens?

Our Nourish Shakes are not vegan as they contain whey protein and milk products. However, they are suitable for lacto vegetarians.

Who are the Nourish Shakes suitable for?

The Nourish Shakes are suitable for individuals with a BMI >30kg/m2, or with BMI >27kg/m2 and obesity-related co-morbidities.

Shakes are not suitable for individuals with:

• A BMI of 25 kg/m2 or lower

• Liver or kidney disease

• Recent myocardial infarction or unstable angina

• Children under 18 years of age

• Adults older than 65 years of age

• Pregnant or breastfeeding

Patients with Type 1 or 2 Diabetes should consult with their doctor.
