However, other methods like bariatric surgery or lifestyle interventions may be more suitable depending on individual needs and medical history. Combining weight loss medication with healthy eating habits and regular physical activity often provides the best results.

FAQs
Mounjaro is the ‘strongest’ weight loss injection, as it has the highest available dosage of all weight loss injections. Mounjaro injections come in 6 strengths: 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.
In comparison, Wegovy dosages start at 0.25mg and end at 2.4mg as the highest dose.
Mounjaro is also the most effective treatment for weight loss17 currently available, according to clinical trials. One study of over 2,500 patients from July 2022 found an average of up to 20.9% body weight loss in patients on GLP-1/GIP after 72 weeks.
In the same study, up to 90.9% of patients were able to achieve at least 5% weight loss, up to 83.5% were able to achieve at least 10% weight loss and 56.7% were able to achieve at least 20% weight loss in 72 weeks of treatment.
Results vary from person to person. Whilst every weight loss journey is different, over 92% of Juniper patients saw results in the first month, with more than 25% of them noticing results in the first week*
In clinical trials of the medication Juniper prescribes18, more than 85% of participants lost 5% of their body weight, nearly 70% achieved a 10% weight loss, 50% achieved a 15% weight loss, and just under a third achieved a 20% weight loss in 68 weeks.
With optimisations to meals and movement, you’ll be supported every step of the way by your prescriber, your health coach, and of course, your community.
*based on the Juniper Lifestyle Survey of 215 current patients, February 2023.
There is no real limit for how long you can stay on weight loss medication. This tends to be specific to each person and some will need longer treatment than others. It’s important to collaborate with your prescriber to find the right treatment plan for you.
At Juniper, your clinician will monitor your progress and adjust your treatment length accordingly.

Yes, there are a few non-injectable weight loss medication options available, with Orlistat and Rybelsus the most common. For those who don’t want to go down the injectable route, both of these medications come in pill form.
Orlistat
Orlistat works by obstructing certain enzymes called lipases. Orlistat reduces the absorption of the dietary fat19 consumed by the body, preventing it from entering your system. Instead, this unabsorbed fat passes through your intestines20 and is eliminated from the body through your stool.
Even though Orlistat reduces the body's fat intake, it's still important to use it alongside a reduced calorie diet and lower your dietary fat intake (as this could lead to some nasty side effects).
Orlistat needs to be taken 3 times a day alongside food.
Rybelsus
Rybelsus is a once-daily prescription medication that contains the same active ingredient as Wegovy and Ozempic — semaglutide. Commonly used to treat type 2 diabetes, when it’s taken alongside a healthy diet and exercise routine, research has shown that Rybelsus can also help with weight loss.
It suppresses your appetite and makes you feel fuller for longer, preventing you from overeating and snacking between meals. It also slows down the emptying of your stomach and reduces glucose absorption by the intestines to decrease your blood sugar levels and insulin resistance.
